Minimum qualifications: 15 years of experience in engineering leadership in inception, design, implementation, and launch of Business-to-Consumer products. 15 years of experience managing an engineering team. Experience in Agile software development. Experience leading engineering of products in a multi-stakeholder environment. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Business Management. Experience in AI and LLM background. Experience in user experience concerns, surveys, iterative design, research, and mocks, with a good understanding of data privacy and security concerns. Experience in EdTech engineering leadership, using products that are web-based, support multiple personas, use cloud infrastructure, work with abuse, and operate in an agile environment, including passion for the education industry. Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Typescript, and cloud infrastructure. Executive presence with excellent communication skills for inspiring, interacting, and collaborating with staff, internal business partners, and vendors. About The Job Google Cloud is seeking an experienced senior engineering leader to drive the technical vision for our online learning platform, which is vital to Google Cloud adoption and workforce skilling. This team develops user interfaces and backend systems for learning experiences that can become the system for all of Google to aid in skilling the next generation of workers and driving Google Cloud technology consumption. This role is central to shaping how Google Cloud helps customers, partners, and individuals learn and utilize Google services to solve business problems, find jobs, hire talent, and create economic opportunities. As the Director of Google Cloud Learning Technologies, you will be passionate about users and eager to engage directly with customers, partners, and teams to promote Google Cloud growth. You should enjoy building new products to facilitate technology adoption and be a thought leader, anticipating how AI will impact learning for all. Customers in over 200 countries rely on us for growth and solving critical business challenges. The US base salary range for this full-time role is $294,000-$414,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is role, level, and location-dependent, with specifics shared during hiring. Responsibilities Develop and own the strategic technical platform and innovation agenda, synthesizing data to inform decisions. Lead and develop a talented team of engineers, designers, researchers, and architects, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and inclusivity. Manage complex technical features and capabilities, promoting transparency and stakeholder influence across Google Cloud.
