Position Summary Under the direction of the Manager Volunteer Services, the Coordinator, Volunteer Services is responsible for the oversight, support and evaluation of various Volunteer activities. Responsibilities Sources, recruits, on-boards, trains and retains volunteers - (life cycle of relationship) Utilizes Volunteer Services specific software to schedule volunteers for assignments and shifts Develops, promotes and maintains a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization; manages all internal and external project requests Identifies and communicates the need for additional volunteers and/or new volunteer roles. Escalates volunteer problems to supervisor Partners with operational volunteer services team members to meet business needs Assists with organization and implementation of volunteer services recognition programs Ensures that both technical and behavioral/interpersonal competencies are followed Provides operational oversight, coaching, and mentoring to volunteers Identifies opportunities for process improvement Prioritizes workload and projects Prepares and achieves targeted metrics Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures Qualifications Education Associate's Degree required in lieu of required experience required Experience One to two years of volunteer services related experience, or equivalent experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to apply judgment and good decision-making skills to service based department required Able to organize work to provide productive work flow required Be able and available to work a flexible work schedule as required based on schedule and departmental needs required Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with volunteers, donors, employees and external customers of organization utilizing instructive or persuasive skills required Able and available to travel as required based on schedule and departmental needs required Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; multi-task; work with confidential information required Possess a professional demeanor and projection of appropriate professional image; analytical skills; high level of organizational and detail-oriented skills; and excellent communication and customer service skills required Tools and Technology Personal Computer (desk top, lap top, tablet) required General office equipment (computer, printer, scaning, copy machine) required Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required Connect With Us!
