Juneau International Airport (JNU) is seeking an Airport Security Manager to join their energetic team of professionals to lead airport security operations.

This position is under the direction of the Airport Manager and will be assisting with all aspects of airport security.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Your office would be located in the Airport Administration Office. Must be available for after-hours meetings and emergency call out work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees security enforcement and compliance issues including controlling access to all parts of the airport by issuing badges for employees, tenants, vendors and visitors; conducts background verification where required.
• Represents the airports interests with Transportation Security Administration (TSA), FAA and other state, local and federal agencies; investigates and resolves disputes and compliance issues.
• Recruits, selects, trains, and supervises assigned professional staff; develops work schedules; assigns duties based on ability and experience; evaluates performance and provides or arranges for training.
• Assists with reviewing, investigating and resolving complaints received by the airport.
• Performs other related work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: A degree from an accredited college with major course work in Public Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field, is preferred.

Experience: Four years of experience working in airport security at a commercial airport of any size and four years of experience supervising the work of others. The four years of supervisory experience may be gained concurrently with the required airport security experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid drivers license, unrestricted.
• Ability to pass airfield-driving test and obtain Airfield Movement and Apron Endorsement.
• Ability to pass federal security clearance requirements by obtaining a JNU SIDA Security Badge and other required background clearances.
• Certifications at the ICS (Incident Command System) 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, & 800 level within one (1) year of appointment.

Note: Employment as an Airport Security Manager is contingent upon passing a TSA-required security check per 49 CFR 1542 and 1544 and Airport Security Program. This will require an FBI fingerprint criminal history records check. Continued employment is contingent on ability to maintain a favorable security check.
